New Bus Transit Line between Wasaga Beach and Collingwood

Wasaga Beach and Collingwood have entered into another collaboration – now, the two municipalities are launching a new bus transit line.

The bus contains graphics that represent both communities and it is launched in order to improve the transit experience and prove that the collaboration program resulted in success.

The bus is fully accessible with space for two wheelchairs and will replace the school bus the municipalities had been using in the interim.

The bus costs $100,000 and was purchased with funds provided by Simcoe County and the two municipalities who used the money from the federal gas tax to pay their share.

The bus service includes 20 stops and has increased its hours to a full day program that starts at 6:00 a.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday.

The transit link between Collingwood and Wasaga Beach is a direct proof of the great collaboration that these communities have.

Wasaga Beach Mayor Cal Patterson stated that the link was needed as there are many people from Wasaga Beach that need to get to Collingwood hospital and other medical facilities that cannot be found in Wasaga.

The bus service will be provided by Sinton Transportation.
